Innovia Films manufactures Clarity®C base film which forms the foundation of Guardian® polymer banknote substrate produced by Securency International. Clarity®C is a high performance, biaxially oriented polypropylene film, ideally suited to banknote production, that has unique characteristics imparted by Innovia’s specialised manufacturing process.
These characteristics can be machine detected using the proprietary Verus® technology developed by Innovia to support Guardian® security. Among the many benefits of the Clarity®C and Verus® combination are: -
- the authentication method does not utilise active signals, for instance IR, and as a result
there is no risk of collision, or interaction, with other machine readable elements that may be
in the banknote
- since all Guardian® banknotes are based on Clarity®C, adoption of Verus® technology
means that both existing and future banknotes can be authenticated
