Recent examples of successful collaborative projects include the development of compostable dye to create environmentally friendly packaging film. The main challenge we overcame was to match the exact colour of the existing film and thus maintain all-important brand integrity.
 
And you don’t have to take our word for it; here, Nick Searle, of Web Dynamics Ltd, explains how we broke new ground to develop film suitable for use with a breathable multi-foil membrane, now marketed as TLX Gold:
 
“We, being a leader in the development of insulation and breathable membranes, approached Innovia Films to initiate a partnership to develop a novel film that formed the core of a new type of breathable membrane. Such a film required three key attributes, namely, low emissivity, high permeability to moisture vapour and low permeability to air.
 
The attributes of low emissivity and high permeability do not normally function together. Usually a membrane which has a low emissivity also has a low permeability to moisture vapour and visa versa. But, through a long research and development programme, which involved careful substrate and coating selection, Innovia Films was able to develop a film to match and exceed our requirements.”
