New Range of Rayotherm Insulating Films
Innovia Films has developed a range of novel insulating films based on bioriented polypropylene (BOPP) film. Sold under the name Rayotherm, the films are available in thicknesses ranging from 100 micron up to 350 micron.Utilising patented technology to incorporate amazing levels of voiding in the structure, the Rayotherm range of BOPP films are produced with exceptionally low density levels (typically 0.3g/cm3) offering high yields for a given thickness combined with superior insulation properties.
These materials can be used to provide the following properties:-
- Thermal insulation
- Shock / scratch protection
- Noise dampening
- Sealable
- Printable
- Embossable
- Die cuttable
- Machineable
- Tactile surface
- To provide insulation wherever hot materials need to be kept hot or cold materials need to be kept cold. Formed packaging, wrap around labels, in mould labels and thermoformed labels are all possible using Rayotherm substrates.
- To improve the handling experience of hot or cold materials. Rayotherm insulates the hand from the temperature extremes of ice creams, frozen foods, hot beverages and soups.
- As a base substrate for adhesive tapes
- As the “foam” layer in induction heated cap seal laminates
- As shock/surface protection in areas such as cable wrap
