Biodegradable

Recent years have seen a major increase in interest in biodegradable & renewable packaging materials. Reasons for this include:

• Potential use of Composting as an efficient and practical method of waste management

• Concern over the long-term future of fossil-fuel based materials

• Significant growth in the Organic, Health-food and Fairtrade market sectors

• Long-term renewability of the raw materials employed for the production of most biodegradable materials.

Innovia Films NatureFlex™ films are a relatively recent introduction to our overall product range, but they have proved a rapid success through the technical properties they provide.  Key properties include very good dead-fold, excellent transparency & gloss, a wide heatseal range and static-free machinability.

These films are based strongly on renewable resources and are fully certified to the European (EN13432) and American (ASTM D6400) norms for compostable packaging.  In addition they have been proven to be suitable for Home Composting and will also biodegrade in a waste-water environment.
