Film 'Stars' Showcasing in Las Vegas

Date: 4 April 2005

The global market-leader for shrink tightening overwrap, Innovia Films (formerly UCB Films) will be showcasing its extensive range of high performance overwrap films at its booth 19.025 at the Media-Tech Expo 2005, Las Vegas, May 10-12.

Introduced for the first time will be the unique biodegradable NatureFlex™ range. These very special films are made from renewable wood pulp and meet the ASTM D6400 norm for compostable films They are registered with the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) to carry the official compostable logo by the BPI. (See below)

NatureFlex™ films are anti-static and offer an ultra wide heat sealing range for easy handling.

Also on show will be Innovia Films unique biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) Propafilm™ range of shrink tightening films which offer exceptional production efficiencies, minimizing waste and machine downtime to increase asset optimization.

Not only do these films tighten on to a pack to give a smart glossy finish without the need for a heat tunnel but they continue to tighten over time so no wrinkles or puckering appears as the physical properties of the film relax. This continued controlled shrinkage also takes up slack which may be caused by miswraps or adverse climatic conditions.

Innovia Films uses a “bubble process” to manufacture its film to give it a “balanced” orientation.  One of the many advantages of film produced in this way is that when it shrink-tightens it does so evenly on to the pack to give a crisp, almost lacquered-look finish.
