Innovia Films, the leading global supplier of speciality biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) and cellulose packaging films is showcasing its extensive range of packaging at its Booth A4071 in Hall 4 at Rosupak 2007.A highlight of the show will be the NatureFlex™ range of biodegradable cellulose-based films, derived from renewable resources which are certified to meet the European norm EN 13432 and American ASTM D6400 standards for compostable packaging. NatureFlex™ is also registered with the Dincertco, AIB Vincotte & the BPI to carry the official compostable logos worldwide.
These films are ideal for packaging natural and organic products, including confectionery, baked goods, fresh produce, household products and personal care items. They offer natural and organic product manufacturers the opportunity to align their packaging message with the spirit of their product marketing, by providing them with a biodegradable, naturally-based packaging material.
A new NatureFlex™ film for labels has recently been introduced designed for pressure-sensitive labeling applications, NatureFlex™ NVL offers excellent printability, has high clarity for a no-label look, high strength and dimensional stability.
The latest technology advances in Propafilm™ FFF flow-wrap films routinely deliver peak speeds of up to 100m/min making them, ideal for countlines and mini flow wrap applications which previously relied solely on cold seal films.
These low heat seal films enable packaging companies to use the same film on both high and low speed lines for greater flexibility and cost savings. Specially developed coatings mean these films also give extremely strong seals, even if there is product contamination, crumbs or sugar, in the seal area.
The unique shrink-tightening characteristics of Propafilm™ OS overwrap grades enables them to wrap all kinds of cartons whilst improving the appearance of the pack. The films tighten on to the pack, particularly when passed through a shrink tunnel. This gives an exceptionally good overwrap with a glossy “lacquered” look on a wide range of products including CD’s and DVDs
In response to the trend towards consumer-friendly, easy-open packs, Innovia Films will be introducing Propafilm™ RXP which combines good sealability with easy peel all in one structure thanks to unique peelable heat seal technology.
STAR-TWIST™ cellulose confectionery film gives up to three times the twist performance of other materials on a wide variety of sweet shapes and on a range of twist wrapping machines whether run at high or low speeds
This film routinely provides a tighter sweet wrap which improves pack appearance and a “dramatic” improvement in twist retention which means fewer miswraps and product waste, less machine downtime and increased shelf-life.
There is also a comprehensive range of coloured Cellophane™ films available providing bright, sparkling, transparent jewel colours, finishes and metallised.
The show will also see the introduction by Innovia Films of two new high performance BOPP label face stock films.
Rayoface™ WTR, a white label film with a unique proprietary topcoat which significantly reduces print temperature requirements and increases print speed and line efficiencies even for the most difficult to print resin ribbons, as well as a wide range of wax/resin systems.
Rayoface™ WTR is a white pigmented film giving optimal processing efficiencies for fast, high speed conversion and printing.
Its sister film, Rayoface™ VTR, has the same top coating, but on a high yield cavitated base film for further enhanced print speeds. Print temperatures can also be reduced because of the insulator effect of the cavitated film.
Innovia Films white cavitated VIP facestock films are UV stabilized to withstand extended outdoor exposure.
