High Yield Film has 'Paper Like' Finish

Date: 19 September 2005

Innovia Films introduces a new ultra high yield, top-coated white facestock film designed primarily for use in the industrial chemical, logistics and transport labelling markets and for labelling outdoor garden and DIY products.

UV stabilisation of both the base film and the topcoat ensure outdoor durability of up to 2 years.

Available in 70 micron, Rayoface™ VTT offers up to 20% increased yield over comparative materials, making it an ideal replacement for paper labels or speciality synthetic papers, especially in applications requiring a high degree of resistance to moisture, oil, and chemicals.

The UV stable, matt paper-like topcoat gives exceptional print performance across a wide range of traditional print processes and for variable information printing (VIP) by thermal transfer or dot matrix printing.

For VIP printing of product information such as serial and batch numbers, the highly absorbent topcoat gives high quality, scuff and smudge resistant bar-codes using a wide range of thermal transfer ribbons and is particularly suited to wax/resin and wax ribbon systems.  The film's surface is also smooth enough for high quality results when using resin ribbons.  The enhanced opacity of Rayoface™ VTT makes it an excellent choice for intricate full colour graphics.

The balanced properties of the film bring the industry accepted benefits of bubble produced biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) to the conversion process such as high-speed lamination, superior die-cutting with high quality label edges and even die wear and reliable matrix stripping.

Says Richard Southward, Business Development Manager for Labels: " Rayoface™ VTT combines significant yield benefits with the high performance of our bubble-made BOPP and has been developed primarily for the industrial labelling markets.”
