NatureFlex™ a Star Exhibitor at Fruit Logistica

Heightened awareness of the benefits of eco-friendly packaging was evident at Fruit Logistica (Berlin, February 10-12) Europe’s leading fruit and vegetable marketing expo.

NatureFlex™, biodegradable and compostable film was one of the highlights of the film converter Zeisberger Sűd – Folie GmbH stand and the Asperg-based company reports strong interest.

Co-owner Boris Zeisberger explains: “We took a range of NatureFlex samples to the show which we had first printed, slit and perforated and there was considerable interest from prospective customers. We are anticipating new business as a result.”

NatureFlex™, from Innovia Films, is manufactured from renewable wood pulp and certified to both EU (EN 13432:2000) and American (ASTM D6400-99) composting norms.

Zeisberger has recently invested in new perforation equipment in order to serve the needs of the fresh produce market.

Mr Zeisberger adds: “In addition to offering the option of sustainable packaging to the fresh and bio-product markets, NatureFlex proved extremely easy to handle in line. It gave excellent slitting and perforation results.”

NatureFlex NE 30, the grade used by Zeisberger, may also be used, unperforated, as a high barrier film. It is heat resistant, ant-static, easy to seal and has excellent “dead-fold” properties.
