Innovia Films: Ongoing Investments Help Advance the North American Labels Market

13.8.2026

Innovia Films expands regional manufacturing and sustainable label solutions to help converters and brands meet evolving market demands

As converters and brands across North America respond to growing demand for sustainable packaging, evolving regulations and increasingly complex label requirements, access to innovative materials, responsive supply and flexible manufacturing is becoming more important than ever. Innovia Films is investing to help its customers navigate these challenges while supporting the continued growth and advancement of the North American labels market.

At its Zacapu, Mexico manufacturing site, Innovia has established a strategic production hub for advanced surface-engineered BOPP films. Recent investments in coating and metallizing technology, dedicated slitting capabilities, laboratory facilities and supporting infrastructure enable the local production of high-performance coated and metallized pressure-sensitive label (PSL) facestocks for customers across the Americas.

For converters, these capabilities mean greater access to locally manufactured label materials, improved supply-chain responsiveness and increased flexibility to develop solutions tailored to evolving application and sustainability requirements. By bringing advanced film, coating and metallizing capabilities closer to the North American market, Innovia is helping converters respond more efficiently to customer needs while enabling continued innovation across the label value chain.

“Our focus is on giving converters greater flexibility, choice and responsiveness as the label market continues to evolve,” said Aaron Henneger, Vice President and General Manager, Innovia Films Americas. “By combining our proven base films with advanced coatings for printability, adhesive compatibility and metallized barrier performance, we can provide a more modular approach to label facestocks, supported by regional manufacturing capability. This helps our customers develop solutions that meet both today’s requirements and the demands of the market ahead.”

The company will showcase these innovations and its broader label film range at LOUPE North America 2026 (September 15–17, Chicago), including live demonstrations of RayoFloat™, the floatable shrink-sleeve technology designed to improve PET recycling by separating cleanly during the recycling process and RayoFloat™ WHITE, which enables brands to replace difficult-to-recycle coloured bottles with clear recyclable containers while maintaining light protection.

Innovia will also be highlighting its latest offerings of downgauged, squeezable PSL, Linerless food labels, In-Mould, PCR-content films, Non-PVC Graphic films, Wrap-around and Cut & Stack label materials.

"We continue to evolve our portfolio to support the transition to circular packaging," said Lucija Kralj, Business Unit Director – Labels EMEA. "From floatable shrink sleeve films to downgauged label materials that deliver more labels with less material, we're helping converters and brand owners prepare for current and future sustainability requirements."

Innovia Films will also present "Where the U.S.Label Market Is Headed for 2026 and Beyond" during the LOUPE conference, exploring key sustainability and regulatory trends, design-for-recycling, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), and the manufacturing investments needed to support future innovation.
